Flying Dogs use long ball to win 5th in a row

The Frederick Flying Dogs made the trip to the Jefferson School to take on the Maryland Renegades. The last time the two teams met, the Renegades embarrassed the Flying Dogs. The Flying Dogs made up for this with a 7-3 win on Thursday evening, their fifth win a row.

Randy Baugher was given the start on the mound and he responded by going five strong innings, allowing only one run and three hits and striking out three. Ray Riggles and Matt Hughes were able to keep the Renegades from breaking out after Baugher left the game, locking up the win for the Dogs.

Offensively, the Dogs got a three run home run from Baugher and a solo homer from Nat Puryear. The Dogs had two hit gamesĀ from Ian Eberly, Matt Buchholz, Mick Myers and Puryear. Baugher and Brandon Roebuck had one hit apiece.

With this win, the Dogs move to 8-4 on the year in the Blue Ridge League. Now they have a four day break before they are back in action for a game Tuesday July 5th against the Brunswick Express at Tuscarora High School.
