Hot bats continue as FlapJacks sweep the Thurmont Fielders

We started out on the road today playing the Thurmont Fielders in a double header. First game score was 15-2. Frederick scored 10 runs in the first inning. Ian Eberly continued to be red hot with the bat going 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Nat Puryear also went 2-2 in the first game. Tim Martin started on the mound going 3 innings giving up 3 hits and surrendering 1 run. Matt Althoff finished out game one with 2 strong innings allowing 3 hits and also surrendering a run. Great game played by everyone.

Game 2 was a nail biter for the first 3 innings. Going into the top of the 4th the score was 2-1 Frederick. Frederick scored two additional runs in the top of the forth and 8 more runs in the top of the 5th. Final score was 12-1. Ian Eberly continued to swing the hot bat going 3-3 in the second game bring his day total to 6-7. Ian also scored 2 times. Steve Shriner also went 2-3 in game 2. Kevin Wu also went 2-3 with 2 runs and stolen base. Starting pitcher Jason Christenberry threw 3 strong innings surrending 2 hits and striking out 3. Matt Hughes replaced Jason on the mound and gave us 2 strong innings. Matthew Smith finished the game off striking out the side. It was a great start to the season.

Lights go out as FlapJacks face first loss of season

Frederick FlapJacks came out red hot in the semi-final game against the Maryland Hawks. Jason Christenberry was back to his old self throwing a complete game gem for the 3-1 victory. Shriner had two RBI and Ian Eberly had a sac fly to finish out the scoring. Red hot David Hostetter led the team with 3 line drives.

In the night cap Championship game the FlapJacks got flipped. Losing 6-4 in 6 innings. (Lights went out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th with Mick Myers stepping to the plate.)

The Frederick FlapJacks are off to a great start. Stay tuned to for the MMSPBL 2017 schedule. Seasons start April 30th.

Strong Start for the FlapJacks

Frederick FlapJacks start off the season 2-0 in the Battle of Baltimore. Game 1 Martin threw 5 strong innings, while Matthew Smith got the win.Brandon Roebuck hit a 2-Run Bomb in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead and go on to win 8-4.

In the night cap, Matt Myers threw a complete game gem. David Hostetterhit a solo shot in the 5th, to put the FlapJacks up 5-0, and the FJ’s went on to win 8-0 and clinch a first round bye to the semi’s. FJ’s will play at 6pm at Swann Park for the semi-final contest.
