Brian Moore impressed in his Frederick Flying Dogs debut as the Middletown High School and Frederick Community College alumni pitched 5 strong innings, striking out 7 and allowing only 2 earned runs. Malcolm Smith and Bear Rand both had 3 hits and 3 runs scored in the contest while Jon Dubay provided the power with his first homerun of the season. The Flying Dogs went on to finish JRL 16-9 in the opener of Sundays double header.
In game 2, Chris Hicks out pitched JRL in a pitchers duel allowing only 2 hits, 1 unearned run and striking out 5 in 6 innings of work. Flying Dogs skipper Nick Collingham picked up the save with a strike out and a game ending 4-6-3 double play by the Rand/Canale duo. Malcolm Smiths bat stayed red hot as the Veteran Flying Dog went 4 for 4 in the night cap to maintain his 1.000 batting average (9-9) on the season.

The Flying Dogs came out swinging Thursday night as they compiled 18 hits over 5 innings in their 18-2 victory over the Carroll Cobras. After plating 2 runs in the first, the Flying Dogs offense exploded in the 2nd scoring 12 runs including a grand slam blast off the bat of Malcolm Smith to chase Cobras starter Matt Ketterman. Eleven Flying Dogs had hits in the game and eleven scored at least 1 run, including 4 runs by leadoff man Bear Rand.
The Cobras never had a chance to get started as starting pitcher Chris Wright allowed only 2 unearned runs over 5 innings of work. The Cobras combined for only 3 total hits and whiffed 10 times.
